SCIENCE

1. The unit that we are working on currently in Science is: “Earth Structure”

2. Homework in Science: Look for examples of the Earth System in scenes as you drive or walk. Look for the Hydrosphere, Atmosphere, Biosphere and Geosphere.

3. In class today we discussed how science and religion need not be in conflict. We also used clay to demonstrate how the early Earth heated up and increased in size. Next we participated in a lab activity that showed the idea of indirect evidence.

ENVIRONMENTAL ADVENTURES

1.  The unit that we are working on currently in E.A. is: “Preparation for the 24 Hour Wilderness Experience"

2. HOMEWORK in Environmental Adventures: 

*Nature Interpretation Homework Activity is due Thursday, 12-15-11. Spend at least one hour outdoors looking for tracks, scat and signs of wildlife. Get a parent signature verifying the time and effort that you put into the project.

3. Today in class we:

*Set up tents in the old gym. We used sleeping pads to figure out space within the tents. 

*Next, we were fitted for backpacks.
