SCIENCE

1. The unit that we are working on currently in Science is: The Earth’s Water

2.  HOMEWORK in Science: Get the  Course Guidelines signed by a parent. Due on THURSDAY, 9-8-11.

3.  In class today, we went to the 8th Grade Science lab to practice lighting the torch. We will use this kill in upcoming labs. We also reviewed the Course Guidelines.

4.  “Learning is not the result of teaching. Learning is the result of the activity of the learners!” This is one of my favorite quotes by a person named John Holt.

ENVIRONMENTAL ADVENTURES

1.  The unit that we are working on currently in E.A. is: Rock Climbing

2. HOMEWORK in Environmental Adventures: Get the Course Guidelines signed and attach $10 for our fundraiser (for equipment repair).

3. In class today, we reviewed Course Guidelines. and learned the Figure 8 Follow-Through Knot, an important knot for rock climbing!

4.  Reminder: The Green Project due date is Wednesday November 2, 2011. Plan to attend a presentation and follow through! More info on this assignment is coming soon.
